The existing home market in the Sun Cities followed a Valley wide trend in January with lower sales than in December, but the prices sellers received for their homes rose while most other areas experienced declines.
The year began with 6,960 resales, down from 7,425 in December.
In Sun City, the number of sales dropped to 60 in January from 70 in December as the median price received by sellers went from December's $132,950 to $140,340 in January. In Sun City West, the sales numbers dipped to 40 from 45 month over month. Prices increased over the same time period to $219,000, up from December median of $186,250.
